On Jan. 14, “Harry Potter” star Daniel Radcliffe will host CBS’ “Saturday Night Live” for the first time. He certainly knows how to perform before a live audience after acting on Broadway in “Equus” and “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.” His highly successful career should give the “SNL” writers a lot to work with. He was recently named Entertainer of the Year by Entertainment Weekly. Lana Del Rey will be the musical guest Jan. 14. It’s her first time on the show.

The titular role of Harry Potter series, Daniel Radcliffe has said that the final scenes in the Potter series were looked fantastic. Daniel Radcliffe has suggested two years ago that he and the other lead stars should be replaced by older actors for the ’19 years later’ epilogue. He also claimed that using make-up to age the characters could cause distraction.
Daniel Radcliffe has said that the thing they did not want was for it to be distracting and he thinks that they figured it out. He added that they did it with prosthetics in the end and he is sure there will be little bits of visual effects for retouching on those moments when they did close-up shots. He told that when they have the prosthetic on for a long time, it is hard to maintain it that the illusion and with close-ups they need to fix it up.
Harry Potter portrayed, Daniel told that it is also a challenge to make someone who is 19 or 20 ages morphing them into fully grown adult. He thinks that they looked fantastic tough and if he do say so, particularly his face.
Besides Daniel, the producer of the Potter franchise, David Heyman has insisted that the original actors had to play the roles in the final scenes and said that after all they have been through with those characters, the way the generation has grew up with them, and they are the one who need to be on the screen till the end. He added that there is an expectation that even if it is not articulated, they need to be on the screen when it is coming to an end.
Earlier, the director, David Yates has explained that the final scenes had to be reshot because they did not work the first time around.

Daniel Radcliffe once spent Christmas Day (25Dec) with strangers in Australia after they recognised the Harry Potter star and invited him to spend the holiday in their home. The actor met a friendly family while enjoying a sunshine break Down Under with his own relatives in 2003.
The Radcliffes ended up exchanging presents with their hosts, and reveals his parents became lifelong friends with the Aussie clan. Radcliffe recalls, “I did a press tour of Japan in 2003 and the Warner Bros. present to my family for me doing that tour was to send us anywhere we wanted to go for Christmas. We said, ‘Australia please.’ So, we arrive on Christmas Day and go to the hotel where the Christmas lunch was being served.
“There’s a family sitting opposite who recognize me and come over and chat. They invited us to their house to finish Christmas lunch. It was either that or the hotel room. So we experienced the meaning of Australian hospitality.
“They were really, really sweet. They even nipped out to get us presents. We made some really, really good friends and, to this day, my mum and dad are still in contact with them.”
